What is Industrial Design?
Industrial design is an interdisciplinary design field that develops functional, aesthetic, innovative, and sustainable solutions to the needs and problems people encounter in daily life. It encompasses the design of products and user experiences by simultaneously evaluating user needs, ergonomics, materials and production technologies, as well as economic and environmental conditions.
The design process is a holistic process that begins with understanding the problem and the users, and progresses through the stages of research, ideation, modeling, prototyping, and evaluation. By establishing a connection between technological possibilities and human needs, industrial designers develop solutions that are not only aesthetically qualified but also functional, accessible, manufacturable, and sustainable.

Design Studio
Students carry out applied studio work covering the stages of idea development, sketching, modeling, and prototyping by analyzing design problems. This process allows students to develop their design decisions and transform their ideas into tangible products.

Design Research
User needs, behaviors, and problem areas are examined through research studies that form the foundation of the design process. Students transfer the data they obtain using observation, user research, and analysis methods into the design process.

Digital Design
Three-dimensional modeling, technical drawing, and visualization studies are carried out using current digital design tools. Students learn to use digital technologies effectively to develop, evaluate, and present their design ideas.

Production and Prototyping
Physical counterparts of the designs are developed in accordance with material knowledge and production methods. Through prototyping studies, students test their design decisions, evaluate their products, and transform their ideas into manufacturable solutions.
